✨SMELL THE ROSES🌹 ⠀
It’s the little moments, taking them in. Finding presence in the business of life. ⠀
Having a newborn and now a 9 months old was waaaay too fast!!!!🤯 but the best I can do is to breathe deeply and take it in. ⠀
My little angel reminds me every day how the simple things in life make up our overall joy. It’s true, I’ve been aware how little things affect me for a long time because I am very sensitive. ⠀
I choose soaps that bring me joy to take a moment and breathe in, laundry detergent that I feel good about for natural scents. I choose soft sheets that I feel gratitude for every night, just to have a safe home where I can lay in peace. I drink tea with my eyes shut to savor the taste and warmth. ⠀
I try to be present and give gratitude for all things big and small. I’m even getting better at appreciating when things go wrong or fall apart and looking for the hidden gem 💎 lessons there. Strengthening my resolve to listen to my intuition even more fully. ⠀
These nights and days with baby are long but the years are short! You blink and it’s gone by. ⠀
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow and face myself from the relationship with my daughter. I’m remembering the soft, loving corners of myself, the spaces filled with empathy, nurturing and unconditional love. ⠀
I’m rembering to stop and smell all the roses 🌹 ✨⠀
What helps you to stop and appreciate the little joys in life?✨
Meet the 1224 Team: @dhilan.g (2/3)
I was born and raised in Edmonton but last year I moved down to Calgary for work. As of right now I’m working as an engineer but we’ll see where the future takes me.
Around 5 years ago I got my first camera as a grad gift. After using it on a trip to Australia I fell in love with the process of creating an image. From the composing, shooting, to editing, each phase is an experience in itself. I’d spend hours editing pictures when I probably should’ve been studying but the time spent learning and practicing this craft has never felt like work.
I’ve always wanted to be able to make a difference in the community through my passions. 1224 gives me a perfect medium for that. I can’t wait to see where the talented team at 1224 will go. 📸:@austincoops

A few days ago we talked about the signs of becoming an “UnDieter”
It’s time to talk about the signs of dieting and restriction. Many people don’t know that restriction is at the root of binge eating, feeling addicted to food and feeling like you have no self control!
When you feel this way it may seem like you need to learn to limit food even MORE because you can’t control yourself but it’s actually the opposite.
Do these signs sound familiar?
Maybe like the old you (or the current you)?
Happy Saturday, Friends!
With Halloween right around the corner I thought some of you might be interested in a fun way of getting rid of your pumpkins once they are done spookafying your home! Here are the details:
WHAT: The 2nd Annual TAS Pumpkin Drop Off!
WHERE: The Alice Sanctuary
WHEN: Saturday November 2nd from 11:00am - 2:00pm (please note that the gates will be closed outside these hours and they will not be accepting donations outside these hours)
WHY: Pumpkins are rich in fibre and vitamin C and provide the residents with a tasty fall treat! #NomNomNom
HOW: Please bring your CLEAN and SAFE pumpkin(s) to TAS between 11-2. Please make sure that there is NO paint/glitter/other toxins on the pumpkin. Please REMOVE all toothpicks, sharp items, candles, wax or other dangerous pieces from your pumpkin(s). They will only be accepting safe and clean pumpkins. #SafetyFirst
PLEASE NOTE that this is NOT a tour or a meet-the-residents. TAS is short on volunteers at the moment and would so appreciate your help to make this day run smoothly. 🙏 Please plan to just come drop off your pumpkin(s) and do a short walk around. There will be NO visits inside the pens and they are asking that NO ONE feeds the residents their pumpkins. If snacks are needed, the volunteers will be handing out the pumpkins to the residents!
Need directions? Just message me! 🎃

In the Philosophy of Andy Warhol he explains that when you have multiples of one image it allows the viewer to not look for meaning within the image but rather appreciate it for what it is.
I was curious who Andy Warhol would paint in our time. I decided @beyonce was a powerful and influential subject and a role model for femininity. —
