🗣 BERNARDO on playing lower ranked teams:
“People sometimes think games against Championship teams are easy, but they’re not. In the last two seasons I have played for City, some of the most difficult games we have had were against teams from the Championship, and in our first season we were knocked out of the FA Cup by Wigan from League One."
WHAT. A. GAME. 😱😱
Yesterday's Match against Aston Villa saw us concede an early goal after 20 minutes. Late into the second half it got even worse as Maitland-Niles saw a second yellow card, which got him sent off. Therefore Emery brought Chambers in for Saka at halftime. We got off to a good start in the second half. We were rewarded with a penalty 60 minutes into the match. Aubameyang handed it to Pepe, who scored his first Premier League goal and made it 1-1. Not even 2 minutes later Wesley scored for Villa and got them back into the lead. With 10 minutes to go we were still down 2-1. Then Chambers scored with a bit of luck and electrified The Emirates. In the 84th minute we won a free kick not far from Villa's goal. Aubameyang stepped up and scored an absolute beauty from around 20 meters. We managed to complete the comeback and avoid dropping more points. 🙏🏼🔥
“Hilary Ginther made Anne Boleyn into a calculating and complicated social-climber. The mezzo-soprano’s darkly projected voice conveyed Anne’s ambition to become queen, but her melting lyricism in her Act 3 duet with Chioldi suggested that the character actually loved Henry. Ginther’s radiant lower register also expressed horror, and when Anne had visions of her own death, her lines swelled with intensity.” - Aaron Keebaugh, Boston Classical Review (link in bio)
England, Nigeria and Canada are willing to fight for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori’s services. The 21-year-old was born to Nigerian parents in Calgary, Canada, but raised in England.
Despite playing for Canada’s Under 20 squad and England’s Under 20 and Under 21 teams, he is eligible to represent the senior national teams of Nigeria, Canada, and England. Talking about the situation, Tomori said: ‘I’m a citizen of all three [countries] so we’ll see. I was born in Canada and lived there about seven or eight months old.
My family is Nigerian, obviously, I live in England. It’s nice to have that. I can’t play Under-21 football anymore so the last international break I didn’t get called up to anyone. Next one maybe we’ll see.’ His manager, Frank Lampard. speaking about the decision said it was a choice to be made by Tomori.
