When I first started my weight loss, I wouldn’t go near fish other than shrimp or tilapia, refused to meal prep red meat and I didn’t even think about eating eggs with the yolks. This week I don’t have any turkey or chicken on my meal plan and yet, still sticking within my calorie and macro goals. Mahi mahi and tilapia for lunch this week, lean ground beef and eggs (w/ 1 yolk!) for dinner and breakfast is pancakes and a scoop of protein again. Sometimes change is good! I’m honestly just looking forward to the fact that I don’t have to eat any chicken or turkey this week...and yes my meals are looking more boring by the week. truth be told, running has been frustrating for me lately. I haven’t been pacing as well as I usually do, and distance is harder than it has been in the past. So today I decided to have a goal and push myself. And I was a mile in and no where near my goal. I got totally pissed and frustrated and then my calf started to hurt. So I walked. Hit the reset button. Did some walk/run intervals but said fuck this. So I turned off Run Keeper. Abandoned my goal. Didn’t worry about distance or pacing. And I just decided to run the rest of the way back to the convention center. And what was on the other side of that decision? A PUPPY PARADE. yep literally a parade of dogs in costumes. It was amazing. And who knows what my pacing was or how far I went. I had fun. Which is why I run. And I’m not saying don’t have goals. This was my first week of training for the marathon I’m running April 2020. But what I am saying is don’t take your goals so seriously all the time. Just be committed and consistent and the results will follow. Take some time to sit back and watch the puppy parade from time to time. This life lesson has been brought to you by running 🌻Michelle
