I tried to imagine how Mars might look, as someone who has never done any research into this topic.. I don't think it'd be particularly close but I am quite happy with how this piece captured my imagination. I love the brilliant orange and I love the details of the mountains.
I've done a lot of mountain studies in the past, the sheer amount of different types of mountains honestly surprises me. And then the dozens of ways to paint each of those is a whole other thing.. The way that nature folds up and over, breaks and rises.. Itncan be astounding sometimes. Then you add on all the ways that people attempt to capture the beauty of it all over the world and even further than that. sometimes I have to take some time to appreciate that. Take time to smell the roses as some might say.. I also had to throw these super cute bows into the mix because the colours match 😁😁 #artjournal#artlovers#artsy#instaart#mywork#myart#watercolor_art#watercolorpainting#watercolor#watercolorartist#hairaccessories#ribbons#hairbows#crafts#hairbow#accessories#aesthetic#inspiration
Every few weeks I have to look through the hundreds of photos I’ve taken for new ideas and new compositions.
These look fun!
Maybe it’s just the first day of Autumn that’s pulling me towards a warmer palette.
Less green and more golden yellows with complimentary blues.
Never get tired of this creative journey!
Happy Fall! 🍁
I spent the weekend at the International Aroid Society Show and Sale in Miami, at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden. It was my first visit to Fairchild or the show and it was an incredible experience! It was very cool to see so many people excited about plants, and Farichild provided me with so much inspiration for my botanical work. Did any of you make it out to the show - what did you think?
Here's more progress on my huge Monstera deliciosa leaf. As soon as I finish this I'm going to start painting some of the plants I saw at Fairchild.
September is Leukodystrophy Awareness Month. Meet Sam. Sam has Vanishing White Matter. His portrait was painted by Lucas Kolasa and has visited Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Texas State University, Children's of Alabama, Quinnipiac University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. We would like to thank Amgen, Takeda, and Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. for their continued support of our children.

Be grateful for where life has led you right now. It might not be where you’ve imagined yourself to be at this moment but have strong faith in your journey. Everything serves a purpose to teach you something to get you where you’re going next🌻. If you ever feel stuck on your road, don’t be sad. Maybe it’s time for you to realize to stop and just enjoy the view for the meantime☀️🌈.
